Duterte's leadership also focused on empowering the Filipino people, particularly those from marginalized sectors. His administration implemented social programs aimed at reducing poverty and providing better access to healthcare and education. Initiatives like the "Build, Build, Build" infrastructure program aimed to stimulate economic growth and improve the country's transportation and connectivity, benefiting both urban and rural communities.

Duterte's foreign policy approach was marked by his pursuit of an independent foreign relations stance. While sometimes provocative, his strong-willed approach in dealing with international partners helped assert the Philippines' interests on the global stage. He sought to strengthen regional partnerships and fostered closer ties with countries like China and Russia, expanding economic cooperation and exploring new opportunities for the nation.
